Important information on Holy Week Watersports Ban:Watersports Ban during Holy Week - the exact dates change from year to year, however, Holy Week is considered the seven days leading up to and including the Monday after Easter Sunday. People can swim, beaches are open and non-motorized watersports are offered, however; there are restrictions on motorized watersports beginning on the Wednesday/Thursday prior to and including Easter Sunday. The actual restriction guidelines may be slightly vague as actual enforcement by the local government can vary somewhat from one year to the next and one area to another. Each year the actual policies are not published by the local authorities until just prior to Easter.

Weddings: the Dominican Republic government has imposed an increase in the fees for foreign visitors wishing to get married in the Dominican Republic. This increase converts to approximately $300 US. Please double check with your individual hotel reagrding any wedding packages as the prices have changed due to this new fee.
